Special Event Station during 29 april - 05 may 2013
19HS33KBX
Change of Throne
The Call 19HS33KBX is activated by station 19HS234 and with the approval of HamSphere support of the fact that the Queen of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Beatrix van Oranje-Nassau, on 30 April will hand over the throne to her eldest son Prince Willem Alexander.
On 30 April 1980 she took over the throne of her mother Juliana. When Beatrix abdicates her throne she has been our Queen for almost 33 years.
When she took over the throne the Netherlands went through some turbulent times. There was an economical crisis and a great shortage of housing.
This led too fierce riots in Amsterdam where the coronation took place. Fortunately her popularity grew steadily in the years after the coronation.
She later grew out to be a objective but very involved head of state. The call 19HS33KBX was chosen for the following reasoning:
-
19HS obviously stands for the Netherlands on HamSphere.
-
33 stands for the years that Beatrix has been our Queen.
-
and KBX stands for Koningin (Queen) BeatriX.
The suffix KBX also happens to be the suffix of the Government aircraft of the Netherlands, a Fokker 70 with the registration PH-KBX
Below a picture of Alexander, Maxima and the 3 kids.
Below you can see the Fokker 70 (PH-KBX) of the Dutch government.
This aircraft is also used by the Royal Family. Dutch registered aircraft all cary the PH prefix.
A special QSL card will be created for this event.
QSL via HamSphere will be sended 100 %
